The 1.64 mile Brands Hatch Indy circuit was the start of the 2009 UK Formula Renault Championship. Jesse Qualified in 7th positon as he only got one lap on slicks on a drying track. In the race he overtook Lee Dwyer into paddock and set about catching James Calado, he was unable to overtake and finished in 6th postion only 0.10 behind the car in front.

In Round 2 Jesse qualified in 3rd postion only one tenth from pole. Again with the tight circuit configution Jesse was unable to overtake the car in front and finished on the podium in 3rd place and set Fastest Lap of the race.
